Man Sustains Broken Facial Bones While Intervening In Fight
Authorities spoke with a local man Tuesday who reported that he had to be airlifted for medical care after intervening in an altercation between two men.
Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show that a deputy spoke with the victim when he stopped by the sheriff’s office.
The victim reported that the assault had occurred in the Peach community on Sunday. He said that at around 5:30 p.m. his friend became involved in an argument with a man on horseback.
The victim said he intervened and instructed the man to leave. He told deputies that the man got off of his horse and hit him in the face with his fist.
The victim reported that he had been airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where he received treatment for six broken facial bones. He said that he had been released from the facility on Monday.
Investigation in the matter is on-going at the present time.
